Read the Bible
Scriptural References:
Deuteronomy 17:19 "It is to be with him, and he is to read it all the days of his life so that he may learn to revere the Lord his God and follow carefully all the words of this law and these decrees."
Nehemiah 8:8 "They read from the Book of the Law of God, making it clear and giving the meaning so that the people could understand what was being read."
James 2:22 “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves.”
What’s that mean?
Just do what HIS WORD says. Anyone who listens to the WORD but does not do what it says…is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But the man who looks intently into the GOD’s perfect written law, HIS commandments which give freedom, and continues to do this without not forgetting what he has heard AND DOING IT, he will be blessed in what he does.
The Team...You are GOD’s temple and HE lives inside you! So the temple is not a building nor just your own body…but the body of Christ working together…the church and HIS bride...
Practice...Does someone who really loves sports just play on game day or do they practice ahead of time? Not only exercising their bodies, but they exercise their minds as well! THE ONLY WAY to get better is to invest the time in getting stronger and being smarter. You have to be focused to win, don’t you?...
Conditioning...So, we must read HIS directions daily in the Bible. We must study and ask questions to be best prepared to get on the playing field for every day of life, don’t we? It is through the constant focus on doing our very best and being in the best “shape” for HIS work….that we’ll begin serving and doing HIS will…without having to really think about it...
You and The Team...It will be like a reflex action and this pleases GOD! The best place to get all this knowledge, to learn from other spiritual “athletes” so we can be at the top of our “game”….is at Church!
