Scriptural References:
Hebrews 10:24: “Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage on another. – and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”
Ephesians 4:1-4: “This passage tells us that we need to play our best because HE calls us to be our best. HE teaches us to be patient with each other and to be supportive so that we’re in agreement and union about serving the LORD!
So, what do these verses tell us?
Have you ever watched a good player try to do it all? Can one really good basketball player beat five other players on the court? Can one really good football player play defense, offense, and be the kicker and the coach…all at the same time? Of course not! That’s WHY we need each other! That’s why GOD tells us to meet with our other teammates...
...Let’s take this a step further, ok? Have you ever been to a pep rally? What happens? You get more excited about the game. As a player, you think about scoring, about winning, about making the coach and your teammates happy! So, how can someone do that…if they’re sitting at home?...
...How about another step further? How can that person sitting at home…out of the game…then be accountable for “doing the LORD’s work”? There’s no one around to talk to. There’s no one to correct them when they stray. You know the phrase, “No man is an island.” The same is true for us as Christians!...
...We must get in the game, with our teammates, listen to our heavenly COACH and read HIS instructions in the Bible every day. And we need to talk to HIM every day…in prayer! So let’s win the game of life together!...
