| Who is a Flame? |
Websters’ defines a Flame as: 1:the glowing gaseous part of a fire 2):a state of blazing combustion or a condition or appearance suggesting a flame or burning or as a burning zeal or a strong passion 3: A brilliant or bright light.“The Flame” is, in Christian terms, someone who wants their faith to grow so that it fan the Fire of GOD within them!That said, remaining a Spark is impossible and even more so when you’ve surrounded yourself with others who are “burning” too! As HIS fire inside of you becomes brighter, your light will increase and begin shining more noticeably. Now! This may cause some to hate or reject you. But do not fear! They may want to move away from the light because darkness is more comfortable to them. Consider the following verses:
John 15:17-19: “These things I command you, that you love one another. If the world hates you, you know that it hated me before it hated you. If you were part of the world, the world would love his own: but because you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. Therefore the world hates you.”
The world likes the darkness and wants your Spark to remain a short lived, uneventful brief light. BUT! GOD has greater plans for you!
So, to be a Flame for CHRIST, it’s clear you can’t go back to just being a spark. As the old Indian quote goes, “Build the fire high,feed and fan the flame often and fight within the light!” Go forward in your pursuit of knowing GOD deeper. Surround yourself with other bright flames for CHRIST and always fight the devil with GOD’s words...and in HIS strength!
